Kiko Miyares

Asturias - 1977

He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Public University of the Basque Country. He developed his first exhibitions in Bilbao, as well as other related work, such as in the installation department of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (2002–2009). With a background in painting, he gradually complemented his work with sculpture, mainly in wood; this website primarily showcases his work in this field. The possibilities of representation have become a fundamental aspect of his work. The path between the automatic and the planned gradually gives way to a way of working that plays between manual practice and increasingly complex planning. The beings initially represented gradually become raw material, elements of construction.
